Friday the 13th!

Its been over two weeks since I last updated the world on my writing status.
(less if you know me IRL, in which case, thanks for listening 😉

The last few weeks have been so rewarding from a creative point of view, and once again I can’t believe how lucky I am to have a chance to do what I love, both as a hobby and in my day job.
Winter has been hanging on much longer than anticipated or desired, but this has had the unexpected benefit of really helping me stay inside and write.

Camp Nanowrimo kicked off on April 1st, which means that I’m in the juicy middle of my latest work in progress. Zahara, my main character, is one of my favorite people ever.

She’s smart, stubborn and has three brothers, so I feel very connected to her life experiences. Well, except for my current lack of magic, that is. I’m still hoping but right now, mine seems broken.

I’m currently just over 32,000 words in, and I’m hoping by next week to be close to the end of her story.

I just can’t wait to see what happens next!

As you already know, the Rise of the light trilogy is now complete and it is available in paperback and e-book forms. I’m toying with the idea of a box set, but I think I’m going to wait until I have a few more books written.

And a new spin-off series is in the works!

Remember Mai? I loved her so much I felt that she needed her own time. Book four is at a few wonderful beta readers right now and hopefully will be ready by the fall for publishing.

So, needless to say, I’ve been working my tail feathers off inside. Not at all pleased with the amount of snow around me, but if life gives me lemons, I’ll attempt to do something creative with them.

Until next time,
Stay warm!
Heather
