It’s ridiculous how fast time goes when you feel like every second is dragging.
I had the dubious delight of spending the week suffering from something that felt suspiciously like influenza, complete with fevers, chills and that deep chesty cough that makes you wonder if you’re going to break a rib.
Of course, I went to work anyway. Who wants to be home with kids that are starting to show the same symptoms as you and want to be on you when you could be at work, sitting without people yelling mommy mommy mommy over and over again?
Not me!
Today as I feel slightly less fevered and the cough is somewhat looser. If I hadn’t woken up at 2:30 am because a second child has now come down with symptoms, today would have been way better.
On one hand, I’m exhausted. On the other, there’ s a higher than 50% chance the mother-daughter Brownies camping weekend in the mountains where snow is predicted will not be moving ahead as planned for tomorrow night.
I’m disappointed for the kiddo of course but secretly, I would love to spend the entire weekend laying on the couch with the kids snuggling while I finish editing on the second in my cowriting series.
I finished edits for Book 1, and I’m almost halfway through the Book 2 revisions. Once these are done, I’m eager to start on a new story. I just plotted a new one today and now
In other publishing news, I’m debating on whether or not I should publish a novella in April, or wait and do a paperback collection of my short stories in May instead.
Of course, this delicious dilemma could all be a moot point if I don’t get enough time to do anything other than edit.
It always takes so much longer than I expect it to that I’m left vaguely surprised, like a kid who doesn’t realize her ice cream cone will melt if you just sit there holding it.
Hopefully, I don’t end up being an April!
Until next time, wish me luck and happy spring!
